Re: iPhone App

I just got 1.1 of the iPhone app, I can say its an EPIC WIN!
Could you make it so we can choose our favourite keys? (instead of having space on both sides)

midnightleopard why don't you message me with your email help@mobilewikiserver.com , I can look into why it doesn't work for you, even give you a diagnostic beta copy to understand what the problem is.

Also check http://www.mobilewikiserver.com/Scratch.html
and see if anything there helps?

I assume you got the ""Oops! We can't connect to the Scratch WebSite. Please check your connection to the Internet. Is AirPlane mode on? Do you have a celluar or WiFi connection problem? If it is working maybe Scratch is having a catnap? We'll see if we can show the last project""

Make sure Wifi is turned on in your Settings app.
Dunno if Scratch works on 3G.

Jazman111  yes it does work on 3G or on any type of Cell phone based data connection.

We just ask some Apple software if it can ping "scratch.mit.edu"   If not then you get the warning message.  Certainly if you can browse scratch.mit.edu in Mobile Safari then Scratch.app shouldn't complain.

Oops I see someone else is having the same problem. Now if I can actually corner a user who can test, then I'll fix ASAP.

You must have an iPod touch. [Don't worry, I have one too  wink ]
The 3GS can handle more than that, I think.

16 coconuts is kind of a wierd thing to compare how much money you have.

Apple is now reviewing 1.2 which should fix the problem. We expect Apple to approve it this morning, so automatic updates will be pushed to everyone who's bought the app at some point in the next 24 hours.

Besides the internet connectivity check change, we altered the Key Board logic so that when you tap the DONE key that completes filling out an ASK block.

Do you have Safari Activated? That might be the problem.

Ah, yes if the device's Setting Restrictions is turned ON, and if Safari is turned OFF, then we don't allow you access to the Internet. That results in the no Internet connection message, a bit misleading, but your device is Restricted to no internet access as far as we are concerned.

Re: iPhone App

Apple should approve 1.3 today. You will get the internet connection problem message at login time if you can not use Safari. Otherwise you will get a different internet connection failure message when the web browser fails to connect to scratch.mit.edu

Anyway, I only have problems with JumiGamer/JumiMouse and Logitech Touch Mouse (apps that allow you to control your computer with an iPhone or iPod touch) because of the dreaded "Unidentified network" problem on my Compaq >_<
but anyway, keep up with the app!  big_smile

JumiGamer and JumiMouse aren't Scratch projects, so can't help you.

Re: iPhone App

For the few who have pre-purchased an iPad, you should know we've submitted Scratch.app 1.4 as a universal iPhone/iPod touch/iPad application. So if you purchase 1.3 for your iPhone/iPod touch and then get an iPad then when you update to the 1.4 version you'll get a player better suited to the larger iPad screen.
