Every time I click on the download project link and click "open", it asks for the Squeak image file instead of loading the project.
Should I do a fresh install?

Fresh install... still doesn't work.

Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 3. And no, I'm not using the zipped version.

No, I actually did a fresh install. Uninstalled, then reinstalled.
Does it matter that I don't have administrator privileges?

Help, please? Sorry, but it's really bothering me, and it hadn't happened before.
No viruses, and some of my other programs are acting up.

I'd help, but... I don't know what's wrong.
But I will bump this for you if neccessary.

Try opening the .image file instead of the .exe file. Also try moving scratch.image and scratch.exe into the same folder, and then open the .exe.

Scratch works, the image file works offline, but when I try to open a project online, it shows me it's trying to find the image file.

Bump... I found a temporary workaround (saving the file works!), but I want to be able to start the file almost instantaneously.
Any suggestions as to what to look at? I didn't mess with the source code or anything...

Not until a while ago. I think it started when my dad put limited privileges on my username... but I couldn't tell since I wasn't using Scratch at that time.

I'm still having problems...

I would help you - but I don't know the answer.
It would be nice if someone who knows the answer would post here.

I hope this problem gets fixed soon...
It's been bothering me for more than a week now!

You DON'T have administrator privlages?
Get some, or go on another computer where you can install Scratch.

Vista, take a look at one of ihaveamac's posts (in a different topic, but similar).

Vista4563, sometimes a fresh install doesn't work. I uninstalled mine, and reinstalled it (Yes, I was admin), and a few days later it came up with the same thing.
It stopped for now though, by deleting it the windows explorer way and not the uninstaller way.
So - you might want to try deleting it that way and then reinstalling.

Thanks. I'll try to get my dad to re-enable admin on my account (it worked while I was admin), and I'll see if it works.

Do you have an extra image file in the Scratch folder that it was installed in? If you have two it will wonder which one it should use.
Nope, there's just one image file...
