Interestingly, I can make the word 'Scratch' into a very secure password:
1. Scratch ... Start
2. Hctarcs ... Backwards
3. H(t4rc$ ... Some character replacements
4. ]-[(-|-4rc$ ... More character replacements, this time with multiple characters
5. %2A$]-[(-|-4rc$^! ... Added postfix and prefix
There you go: '%2A$]-[-|-r4rc$^!', a very secure password. But can you remember it? Thats the thing...
I can remember mine... it's over fifteen characters, and the password is completely random (ie. o2r$5, Rq3;[t7=).

My trick to make easy to remember but hard to hack password is to think of few words or an expression or slogan that's related to the site you're making a password for, and then to convert it to l33t, replace the spaces with '_' - result: easy to remember long-ish passwords that use capitalisation, letters and numbers and symbols!
Ex:
For the scratch website: I love to program! -> 1_L0v3_2_Pr0gr4m!
Nice - but there's a set method you're using. Someone could always guess the phrase ("I love to program!" is rather obvious), and do the modifying.
Not bad, though.

past the obvious passwords, which is just stupid, a hacker isn't going to waste a day trying to get into some random account on a kid's programing website.
At the time I made this topic, there was some stuff about a 'Scratch hacker'... I don't know if there was a hacker or not, but I just wanted to make this.
The hacker could be a normal Scratch user, you know. Not a person who wants money (how would you get money by hacking someone on the Scratch website?).
Anyway - why not have a secure password?

Since when? Can a moderator please tell me if this is true?

Well, if you do it after a warning...your account might be blocked. It all comes down to respecting others. When you manipulate text in your posts so that it looks like I (or others) said or did something that I didn't - that is not being honest. It's confusing and disrespectful as well. So please don't do that.

Oh, ok. I'll change that.

I love 1337 passwords because 1337 is so arbitrary: there are 4-6 symbols for each letter, and in a 16-character password that's about 5^16 different combos of 1337 characters, assuming that the hacker ALREADY knows what the phrase is!
EDIT: Did you know that 5^16 is 152587890625? That's a lot of passwords...

Hes not meaning 1337 as a number, its a language called 1337, or Leet, or Eleet. Look it up on wikipedia.
