There has been much dispute about the word "spam". We'd like your help on defining it.
What do you think spam is?

It's that canned meat. (It's made from people)

1.
Trademark. a canned food product consisting esp. of pork formed into a solid block.
–noun
2.
(lowercase) a disruptive, esp. commercial message posted on a computer network or sent as e-mail.
–verb (used with object)
3.
(lowercase) to send spam to.
–verb (used without object)
4.
(lowercase) to send spam.
Not how I define it, but how an online dictionary does.

You're a TBG moderator!
Or is that why you be askin' this question here?

Would a TBG moderator count as a real moderator?

Spam is the abuse of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately.

Spam, to me (even though Im not a moderator) is annoying and useless messages that fill your notifications and inboxes with junk! Isn't it a beautiful thing? No, just kidding!
Offline
1. SPiced hAM
2. Mindless posting.
3. Advertising through off-topic posts.

In terms of the forum, I usually consider it to be one of these things:
-> message of Scratch blocks walls
-> message of repeating words
-> commercial advertising
-> deliberate creation of duplicate project ad topics for the sake of increasing project attention
-> deliberate off-topic message
But in short, it would be just as juststickman described it:

That's pretty much sums it all.

Thank you for the much needed help.
cheddargirl, do you mind if I quote you on this? I would gladly appreciate it as part of a (smt) we're doing over at the TBG forums.

"Secret Moderator Thing"? Unless you need the info for a strange spam game of some sort, whatever you guys are working on in the TBG forums I hope you're not keeping it a secret from the Scratch Team - anything regarding outlining and maintaining forum control should be run by the Scratch Team first.

To be more specific, I was referring the forum rules that could be implemented in the TBG forums only. I would like your authentication to use part of your post, though.
And yes, Andres has heard about it.

There really is no need to ask me about using quotes I've said - it's out there and visible for anyone to quote again so long as it is not edited to misconstrue the original message or it's not used out of exaggeration.
Just remember to run the final version of the rules by the Scratch Team.

Thanks for your consent... I know some people are sensitive to these things; simply, I wanted permission.
Close, please? (It feels weird saying that... hehehe.)
