Now, before I get to the details, I just wanted you to know that trying to find a Topic that covered this was near IMPOSSIBLE, I searched nearly 18 pages, it was tedious, and it was just plain annoying to have so many negative search results.
(On a side note- Now I know how the captain of that ship felt on WALL-E when Eve came back positive for plant life. AFTER ALL THOSE NEGATIVES!) Okay, moving on, moving on!!
Now, I'm currently trying to make my first ever OS for a contest that a friend of mine made. So, can anyone please explain to me how to make an OS? I've been working on a Game with no bugs or glitches or holes in the Storyline for practically my entire Scratch life, with the exception of 7 wasted months. So, I can fix any glitches that an OS may have, and I'm ready to make one.
Oh, and a link to a Project with free OS buttons and sounds would be nice.
(Please??? Thank you in advance)

There's no right way to make a good OS - just try and follow the guidelines like these:
• Good graphics
• A design that is easy to use
• Plenty of options
• Detail, in-depth
• Bug-free
Here are two good OS's that you could check out. Test them, and look at the scripts if you want to know more.
Xenotype 7
SynOS V

I'd always stress graphics in the OS-making community. They are mostly rubbish that you can't look at. Good graphics is key. Make it fit together. That is why I don't use any "store-bought" graphics, meaning I didn't make it, someone else made it.
Put in complex features and a lot of applications. Minimization is nice. Importing applications is awesome but not essential.
Make it feel stable and strong. Often I feel unstable on OS's, I don't know why.
Make it easy to use, which is essential. Don't expect people to use your OS if they don't know much about file systems, etc.
Check over everything 5 times. Bugs make the experience feel bad.
I'd suggest Syn OS or Xenotype to start with, but here are some links I am throwing at you as well:

Go to here because it shows the best, or go to the "views" section to see the best too or "most recent" to see the average.

Thank you for the quick response, both of you. Usually, it takes a few days before someone posts on one of my Threads. Well, at any rate, thanks, and I'll try.
