Realism isn't wanted in most games unless it's supposed to be serious. It doesn't matter if the stickman has any facial features, it's a stickman. It's a character, not a work of art.

Take this ball character I scanned in not too long ago:

Sure, it's simplistic and has no complex details, but it would WORK in a platforming game and people would like playing as that character more than an overdone deviant-art piece.

It depends what the rest of the game looks like.
