My browser crashes every time I open a scratch game
Scratch still works, though I had to reinstall it.
Any ideas on what to do to fix it?

Sounds like trouble with your installation of Java (that's why it happens across both browsers). The Scratch website depends on Java to play projects.
Try visiting this page to see if your Java setup is configured properly. If not, follow their instructions to fix the problem.
