I don't quite understand the ignore list... There are a few users who I've learned to ignore; They post quite often but don't add much, but I ignore them just fine without adding them to a list. Is the ignore list helpful to some users? -MrEd

Yeah! If you don't like a user, you can ignore the user by adding it to your ignore list! Simple as that.
