Typed-out blocks!

I would really like to see type blocks. What it is, it writes out the variable or word or whatever. Along with this block there is clear, set font to, set font size to, and set font colour to. So if it said "Hi whats your name?" And you put "Joe" then there could be another block that writes out "Joe" In the specified font and x-y position. Get what I'm saying?

Here's what It could look like:

Re: Typed-out blocks!

I support this. The only other ways to show text created in-game right now is with the say block or by setting a variable, neither of which can be customized.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Awesome! I want that - after all, most programming languages have it.

Re: Typed-out blocks!

So like print in Python/Perl or Console.WriteLine in C#?

Re: Typed-out blocks!

It should be [print [] at x:[] y:[]]. And maybe we should have blocks to set the size and font. That'd be awesome.  smile

Re: Typed-out blocks!

Hmm... I was thinking of a "print" feature where it would print text along the screen.

Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Re: Typed-out blocks!

That could be useful.

I made an ebook reader that stamps characters onto the screen. it could be modified to stamp text to a particular x and y.  You can't change the size, color, or font easily; but may help for what you want to do.
