Hmm...12 months in a year. About 30 says in a month.

4 times 30 is 120. 120 times 12 is 1440.

About 1440 commercial spammers in a year.

That's not so good.

i think it has to do with scratchers being annoyed. If something like a comment is flagged then they can't reply to it anymore. they want to tell them something so they reply instead.

i know because i used to do that when i was newer to scratch. now i just click report or flag.

also im not sure if it works the same way for reporting something in the forums, but i know that with comments you can't reply afterward.

Maybe you could make a sticky (in All About Scratch or Miscellaneous) about the Report button? It'd really encourage the use of the Report button - and not just for reporting commercial spam, but for anything that the moderators should see, and for asking them for stuff like getting your topic renamed.

Well I redid the math.
The average between 3 and 4 is 3.5

3.5 X 365 = 1277.5

That, Jonathanpb, is a great idea! I think it would help people realize that when they see commercial spam, they should report it!

It's in PunBB-Hosting, but a little different from what Wolfie1996 described.
