project bully (what to do when someone cyber-bully's you)

I am making a sequal to my project, Project Unknown, and I am calling it Project Bully. It will be about what to do when someone cyber-bully's you. So far, here are the idea's I have. Anyone is free to give me ideas and suggustions for the project.

1)ignore the bully:
usually when someone post's something mean on your project or gallery, believe it or not they are trying to get attention. They arent getting views or comments on their projects, so they try any way they can to get some attention, even if it means negative attention.
2)tell an admin:
if someone is constantly bullying you and other people, tell an admin using the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page, or posting it in the forums.
3)report them:
do not abuse the report button, because doing so is being a bully yourself. After trying other methods, you can report them, but getting them banned from the site won't help. They'll just make a new account. Try and get the bully out of them, and make them a better person.
4)DO NOT bully back:
bullying back will only get you into trouble, and you will be considered a bully as well. Stay calm and ignore the bully, or just delete their post.
5)Scratch Agents:
If you want, join Scratch Agents. You become an agent and scout the Scratch website looking for bullies. When you find one, you tell other Agents about that person. Then all of the Agents decide what to do about that bully.
6)make friends with the bully:
The bully usually just bullies because they want attention, or because they are bullied in real life. Making friends with the bully will probably make them feel better so they stop bullying.

I don't think that this is bullying back. If you are getting stalked, it is okay, nay, the absolutly only thing you can do is call the cops. The same thing applies here. The report buttons are here for that single solitary purpose and you should use them if you need to. Don't abuse them, but use them when the need is there.

Sorry for using so many clique phrases in that essay.  big_smile

3)report them:

4)DO NOT bully back:

1) Reporting isn't bullying back, I should know, just don't tell the person you are reporting, in some ways it's just like flagging.

An idea for the project, advise against making galleries like Bullies Go Go Gone and Bullies and You that name and shame the bullies, tell people to either join Scratch Agetns which helps the community or make a small club with things to do if you've been bullied and need a friend. If you want to do an interview or something if I do say so myself I'd be quite good at it, I've been bullied and I've done something to help others it's quite inspirational really

i completly forgot about Scratch Agents! I'll add that in, but Scratch Agents names and shames bullies as well. i don't think i will do any interviews, but maybe you can be interviwed about it for the Scratch Newspaper that Lanie runs i think...

PlanetX SA doesn't name and shame bullies it just flags them, and it's not really for bullies its just for innapropriate usernames and stuff

Re: project bully (what to do when someone cyber-bully's you)

but still, when you find one, you report it to everyone else (the naming part). then you flag them (the shaming part)
