Compressing

When you compress sounds or images does it change them?

Re: Compressing

Yes, it reduces the filesize, but depending on how much you compress them it can lose some quality.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Compressing

it depends on the format.
Compressed JPG's DO lose quality, by losing edge definition.
Compressed PNG's and TIF's NO NOT lose quality.
Compressed GIF's lose colour depth.
BMP's cannot be compressed.

Scratch, I believe, uses JPEG compression.
