Lately I have noticed an increase in the bumping of old threads. This made me wonder: "When exactly is a thread considered to old to bump?" If anyone could tell me exactly how long, that would be appreciated.

I guess when it has been inactive for 2+ months.

You know what? I have no idea. I've often went along with the definition of an old thread from another forum, so usually I think anything over four to six months is old - of course that is my opinion, it would be interesting to see if anyone else has a definition of what is an old thread.
When it comes to necroposting, I'm more concerned on (1) whether or not the post contributes something to the subject and (2) if the subject is still relevant to today. For example, old 'Miscellaneous' threads (with exception to collection threads such as the Dragon Egg Hatchery and Art Threads) and old 'Show and Tell' project threads are usually a big no-no for bumping unless resurrected by the original thread owner.

Thanks, Cheddargirl. I wonder what the Scratch Team's opinion is on this...
