Scratch

I wish the Scratch community could be better. 

You hit the hammer right on the head somelia! No matter how good/bad the coding is. No matter how good/bad the art is. They are still imagining, programing and sharing.

Though there are still RPGers but less people care about that if it is in TBG

There probably are... but they're probably usually few and rather obscure.

There is one site that I recently discovered that that has no age-limits in joining: Funart-Central - However, I'm willing to bet they can state this only because they have a content filtering system (but this can be turned off so it isn't something I will recommend to younger viewers despite its lack of an age limit  ). Its older sister site Fanart-Central also does not state an age limit - but again, probably because they have content filtering that can be turned off (so again, something I will not recommend to younger viewers. Additionally, I think Fanart-Central is pushing towards implementing an age limit). On top of it all, both communities, sadly, aren't that friendly either towards the younger members, either.

As for the art thing, I haven't had any opposition to art on the Scratch website so long as the intent was to share it (which means letting other Scratchers use it). If the point is to show off the art and not share it, then an art website would be a better option than Scratch; Scratch releases projects under a Creative Commons license - definitely not the license you want to have if you don't want others using it (for legal reasons, you will want a copyright license with no permissions, which is something that most art websites cover and Scratch currently does not).

That's an interesting proposal...I wonder if that is an area that the Scratch Team is interested in getting into?

I recall a quote from andresmh a while back saying how Scratch about programming AND art - I think it would be awesome if there was a section for Scratchers to share and lend images, much like what deviantART has with their stock images and resource section.

I'll add something to this. Art is all right, as long as you do some programming. Maybe a slideshow type thing, with a bunch of the art you have? Or, get creative and make it interactive art?

I don't care if people share their art on Scratch. They're not the kind of projects I am usually interested in viewing, but it's won't kill me if they are on the site. I have found some art projects that have been really awesome and I have admired them. I think the problem with the Scratch community right now is that too many users have strong opinions about what and what not Scratch should be used for, often justifying their opinion with the motto. What people often fail to realize is that none of the words in the motto are more important than the others, and everyone has their "favorite." I agree that a separate art section would be nice, but it shouldn't be necessary if users mind their own business. If you're into art projects, post them, view them, and comment on them. If you're not, leave the artists alone.
