255 yuml %FF ÿ Small y, dieresis or umlaut markYou can use these to add [square brackets] in order to include bbcode samples that aren't parsed.
In order to use these, add an ampersand (&) in front, and a semicolon behind.
If it is a number, you'll also need a number sign in front.
Ie: To add an o with a slash through it, you can use:
ø
or
ø
However, the word type does not seem to work in these forums. There could be exceptions, though.
Hope this helps!

These are HTML-coded characters, BBCode doesn't parse them. Instead, you can copy-and-paste Unicode characters, which work in most of decent browsers.

You are correct that BBcode doesn't parse them.
However, they are left as-is, to be parsed as character references by the browser.

It needs to end in a semicolon, not a colon.
So & # 2 4 8 ; will work ( I just added spaces to prevent it from parsing it.)
Like this: ø.

Or you could just hold down the Alt key (with num lock on) and press the keys on the numpad and you get them.

Yes, the entity references do not seem to work. No worries, just use the numerical references.

Numerical references?

Yeah, like using #248 (a number) instead of oslash.

Hey, dude, you forgot to use the [img][/img] tags for your signature. But your hosting from cooltext, which isn't always allowed, try hosting the picture at imageshack or somewhere like that.
