Art lesson advice/survey

So...When I come back from my trip, I'm most likely to get some lessons! ^.^ But I don't know if I should get lessons on a)Oil Painting b)Improving my skills and c)Realistic drawings/sketches. I'm going for Oil Painting, but some opinions could help me choose. Thanks! P.S: Reasons of why and why not would be nice too!

In my opinion, the lesson you want will be based on the current art skill you have right now and what each lesson teaches. If you think that the lesson on improving your skill will help you improve your art skill greatly, then I would suggest taking that - otherwise, go for whichever class you want.  smile

Re: Art lesson advice/survey

Whatever you want......

a) Learning to use the oil paint medium. Unless you plan on using that medium often, maybe choose another subject.

b) Nice, will help you with whatever road you take. Problem: doesn't focus on anything specific.

c) Very helpful, but difficult to learn, and only focuses on one small subject.

What class is the longest?

Re: Art lesson advice/survey

If it was me, I would probably choose improving my skills, and sketching. I'm just saying that, because I don't plan to do drawing art for life necessarily, but sketching is still a good skill to have.

But considering you're an art person, you should probably do whatever you want, and do something hopefully that you haven't done before or much, which will use your creativity well  smile
