The definition of "quit":
1. To depart from; leave.
2. To leave the company of.
3. To give up; relinquish.
4. To abandon or put aside; forsake.
5. To cease or discontinue.

It says nothing there that you would come back afterwards. So before you quit, ask yourself if you'll ever come back, and if so, say that you might come back afterwards.
