Hello!
OK - I have a confession : I haven't been on Scratch in months and months, and today, looking through the forums, I didn't see any familiar names! I've been on Scratch for about 3 years, so I guess now I could be considered a veteran/antique - which I certainly feel like. Anybody want to update an old busybody on the current happenings, new top/up-and-coming, news of older scratchers (archmage, myredneptune...)?
Please help poor out-of-the-loop me!
Thank you!

Yeah you didn't really miss too much.
But pretty much everyone you knew is gone except JSO and paddle2see.
I quit using the scratch program but sometimes go on the forums.
Also, most people don't use scratch's programming features any more because its "too hard"

Hey llamalover, the newest change we had was with the 'Inspiration and More' forum (as you can see, it was subdivided into other forums).
There also some news about the development of Scratch 2.0 (see the announcements).

I am an old scratcher!

I remember you!
A lot has happened. Scratch has slowly been getting taken over by art and animations, so good programmers are rare nowadays (even though many people want to see that changed).
You can still see some older scratchers around, particularly on the forums. Scratch 2.0 has been announced. But aside from that... not much.

Bad time to come back dude, this is the AGE OF QUITTING
Hmnwilson's right, there are a lot of animations (not a bad thing, though), and less cool programmers, but there are still a few...

I'm so new. Dx
Here's An un-brief history of Scratch.
You can read about what happened...

Hi! Welcome back.
I highly recommend reading Chrischb's link. Oh - archmage and MyRedNeptune are still active (and Neptune's a moderator).

Seeing other "Class of 2007" members here inspired me to join in.
There seems to be huge enthusiasm for "coloring contests" and for "add yourself" projects! And, yes, there was a lot of "quitting" going on but that seems to have slowed down.
So, make a coloring contest and add yourself to some projects and you'll quickly feel right at home again!

Llamalover, I'm actually surprised you didn't get wiped out in the '07 purge. The user Nepartus rose to power among the ranks of the SUB, the Spammer's Unity, and they reset the servers, and a mass deletion wiped out the entirety of old users.
