That part didn't really matter. Because scratch resources would still be it's own site.

Yeah. But it's a quick lazy way to switch to scratch.mit.edu

I haven't really found any bugs or anything. Only that one time that I posted about earlier.

I can't release any information about merging sites, because it is unclear. But there is a chance, so don't be totally bummed  smile

Let's get back on topic now  smile

Re: Scratch Resources in Private Beta

Ok, I was asleep and I woke up with 4 pages of questions xD

About merging sites, there is a chance a feature like that would be implemented into the main Scratch site. There is only an idea, but I think it would be great ^^

About user pages - I did not make them because i want sr to be an addition to the Scratch site, users should only be linked to their Scratch Site my stuff page  smile

Backgrounds are automatically resized to 480x360, so it is recommended you upload images of that size. If they aren't they might be stretched aspect ratio is not maintained. This is done mainly to prevent the sharing to be used as an image sharing host, and to save disk space.

The SQL error Dazachi had is werid, it probably was a problem with the file name. If you tell me the original file name, I'll look into the script to see what went wrong.

We chose to approve all content before publishing, because the flagging system Scratch has only works when you have a lot of visitors. When it turns out SR has enough visitors, we might implement a flagging system.

I will also place a message after uploading to make clear you have to wait for your upload to be approved...

Re: Scratch Resources in Private Beta

By the way, JSO, you may want to remove the Resdap (I forget the capitalization on that) output box, because sometimes it tells me it succeeds, by printing code. And it did succeed, there was no fail message hidden anywhere in the code.

Also, I go to a certain page to get to the site as a beta user, and in the output box is "Did I fail?" Just saying...

Re: Scratch Resources in Private Beta

I have some ideas.

1. You should be able to preview the sprites and backgrounds before you download it.
2. You should show the comments that people set when they uploaded it.

At first, I could see Birthday, it was just hidden, so I approved it and now it is there. I am not sure.....

Re: Scratch Resources in Private Beta

I am quite sure you filled in a special character in one of the boxes that made it crash. That shouldn't happen, so thanks for the report.

And I know the ResDaP Dev mode moxes contain weird messages, It makes me understand the code  wink  I'll remove some of them soon.

Hey, you wouldn't understand any of this either! Right now I am editing the root source for SR, and it is not simple. I am not meaning to sound angry at you, but this is not easy stuff.

Oh, really? Then what does this mean:
ResDap **take 1<query 637193d8dajs9dma9dmadiamdiamaodamao

j/k I made that up, but most of the code is like that.

3. You should have a forum button. It could lead to the main scratch forums. Their could be a category named Resources.

As we said before, there is a chance of merging sites, and that would be great, but we are still unsure. Previewing sprites and backgrounds is one of the things I think JSO is planning, but seeing comments that people set is too complicated. We would have to make a script to retrieve project information and then post it. That's what the Scratch team is working on on this site, but for SR, it won't be possible without a special Scratch version.

This site, the main Scratch website, and SR. We are still unsure about all the details and even whether or not the Scratch team will go along with it.
