1984

I am reading the book 1984 by George Orwell right now. Discuss what you thought about the book when reading it, and what you think it all means. Will that ever really happen to us?

Re: 1984

It's about corruption everywhere.  yikes

I read it a while ago, and it was interesting... but when they were explaining all the important stuff, I got so bored. -_-

I liked it, though.  smile

Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Ouch, 1984 is full of politics.

Re: 1984

You should try reading Cory Doctorow's "Little Brother" (which is available for free download http://craphound.com/littlebrother/download/).  Its a very modern take on the idea of government monitoring and control.

And its scarily plausible...
