I would like it if you could change your username like you can your password it would be very useful. I made my account a while ago and the latest sprite splice I had made was a pikavee. Now I would like to change it to something else that is not related to a sprite splice. If it's possible with passwords why not usernames?

Because its disabled unless you are a forum admin for safety.
Because if the average user could do it, people would change their names willy-nilly.

If people could change their usernames, we'd never know who's who.

To elaborate:
-User_A would change my name, to, for example, User_C
-User_B would change his name to User_D
-Then, User_A would steal User_B's name, and chaos would ensue

That would be a big mess.

Why don't we just do this...
1. You can't change your name to an already existing name (including another user's original name)
2. You can only change your name once a month
3. On the profile page, your original name is shown under your changed name in brackets like this:
INSERT NAME HERE
(AKA juststickman)

How would you keep track of all the old names?
How about you could only change your name once a year? Why would you be changing it so much?
And what about the technical side? Linking 2 FluxBB forums and the ScratchR platform to recognize change. No, I believe you would have to:
1. Change the name on the main forums (as an admin* or mod)**
2. Change the name on the TBG forums (as an admin* or mod)**
3. Open up the database in phpMyAdmin for the ScratchR side and find the table defining usernames, then rename the person who wants to be renamed.
For the ScratchR, though, I belive you could write an SQL script in PHP to do the same thing though.
