Re: The Mario Kart Center: Not pokemon, Races and Battles.

Let me get familiar with the game again (I haven't played in a really long time) then I will play you.

I'm graduating HS this April and going to college in the Fall.

I find that daisy on the mach bike is the best combo, baby daisy on the bullet bike is good too. The flame runner isn't that good online because of the horrible acceleration and you get hit a lot online.

Again, if you practice using it, you're not at an disadvantage. There is a special way to get back to full speed if you got hit, without accelerating. Press and hold b, than a (all quickly), and hold those buttons, and you will start to see blue sparks. Once you see the blue, let go, and you get an immediate boost. This way there isn't as much of a drawback.

A and B?

A and R ftw. Use gamecube controller FTW.

For some reason, for drifting I use R, but if I want to do what I posted a description of, or I want to back up, than I use B  tongue  It varies. I overall forget, because I haven't played in a long time.

Why would you use those?

Karts are dead in MKWII, look at all the world record trials, they all use bikes. Bikes have inside drift which help their turning massively. Here is what bikes I think you should use

Yup. The last kart world record was on DK Mountain, about a year ago by biohazard http://www.scratch.mit.edu/ext/youtube/?v=VSTm4BVKi9M (watch in 720p or else it's blurry, and the music is different because it was the first kart wr in a long time at the time, so it was like a glorious moment for us mario kart addicted players  tongue , so they put special music)

bullet bike: Good balance of acceleration, speed, and turning. The downside to this is that it doesn't have the best top speed.

Mach bike: The most well rounded bike, it has better top speed than the bullet bike but worse acceleration, and turning.

I used to use this, until I learned about how awesome funky is  tongue

Flame runner: Its made for speed, it has better top speed than the Mach Bike but worse turning, and acceleration.

Best vehicle *ever*

Torpedo: Good for speed and nothing else, gets wrecked in stages with a lot of turns. Used mostly for time trials.

Only for time trials

Also, the character you pick does matter because they add stats. Baby Daisy, Daisy, and Funky Kong are normally used because they add to top speed.

Rosalina as well  tongue

But actually look at this - Nintendo must have done this for a reason

Maybe RHY doesn't care as much about winning as about just having fun and picking something different. The amount of people that use these top 3 bikes online (myself often included, I will say) is probably equal to or even more than the amount of people that use MetaKnight on Brawl Wi-Fi. Now I agree with you that those bikes are the best, but there's no need to be critical over what kart/bike someone uses.

Metaknight isn't the top used character on standard WiFi. He is in competitive play, but on WiFi as a whole, Ike, Kirby, Lucas and Toon Link are the most used.

I'll find my MKWii code sometime. I usually use Dry Bowser + Bowser Bike.

Bikes are rubbish. It's called Mario Kart - not Mario Bike. Play to have fun - not to win by abusing wheelie. I can't drift with those, anyways.

I am guessing that your real problem is that you can't drift with them and not that you think they are cheap or boring. If you want, you can go on automatic and then you don't need to drift. But karts in this game are pretty rubbish.

I do think they are cheap and boring. Outward drift is way more enjoyable for me - I can drift on bikes but not well. Plus - why the heck would I want to play on automatic?

Nintendo Should make karts super overpowered the next time to make the bike players see how we feel. Kart Wheelie! XD

Anyways - I'm back. Anyone want to play?

Uh, I lent the game to my friend. He doesn't live that far away so I'll get it back sometime soon.

I found mine!

...but it's frozen.

Definately can't play DS - my router doesn't like it (the Mario Kart Red Original DS fails at connecting, and I'm not using my brother's DS (it's slimy... ew) ). But I'll have a go at getting a connection with my Wii in a bit.

Oh, wait... BWOG might flip out on me if I don't get him some backgrounds for his OS D:
