I'm glad you brought this up! We have changed our standards a bit to try and ensure that the forums remain orderly, respectful and helpful without taking inordinate amounts of moderator time.
Before you post to a topic, it might be helpful if you ask yourself these questions:
1. Is the information I am supplying with this post helpful to the thread topic?
2. Is it helping to keep the forums orderly?
3. Is it respectful?
If your post doesn't meet those criteria, maybe you need to rethink what you are posting.
When you fake a quote by a moderator, you are disrespecting the moderator and making the forums less orderly so you are lacking in two of the criteria. I hope that helps explain what you are seeing

Yep, it's true - the forums have gotten stricter. Seems like the tone was getting disrespectful at times, so we've become quicker to warn and block Scratchers who post disrespectful stuff - especially in Miscellaneous, because topics there aren't always related to Scratch (and the forums, after all, are here to support the Scratch community).
Check this thread out for more info:

And I got banned for "inappropriate posting on the forums" (or something like that) when nobody said anything about my posts being inappropriate.
FMT, do you know what you did?

You're flaming now. I was not abusing my powers, You was abusing your powers.
