Connected!

My internet fell out 1,5 days ago. I had to hard reset my router to factory defaults and it works now, but I lost all my data on it like Port Forwarding and firewall settings  sad

Usually, when I have a pc problem, I just Google. Now I had to figure it all out by myself.

Some of you already had these annoying internet problems?

(And oh, "user-friendly" vista offered me a "user-friendly" network repair tool which told me my connection was perfect - thanks, that helped a lot -- )

It's microsoft. What did you expect  smile

I remember my internet was REALLY slow. A speed test said it was 30 kb/s.  sad

Oh well. Atleast my internet didn't go down altogether.

Edit: Yay! Hit the 1/4 of a thousand fourm post mark  big_smile

Re: Connected!

I had a really bad internet problem once, but it wasn't computer related. Some guys were replacing water pipes in my area and they were just ripping out all the wires that got in their way without bothering to replace them. I had to wait a week to get my cable tv and internet fixed  sad

Re: Connected!

A few weeks ago my internet dropped to 0.3Mbits/sec because I reached my huge download limit without being at home  neutral

And everything is protected by Anti-Virus. Really weird...

But this factory reset is annoying - I have to re-setup the internet connection on every PC in the house, also on my testing server which has no screen/keyboard (I used remote desktop but it uses a connection ofcourse...)

Re: Connected!

Once, my neighbor (he's 18) was backing into his driveway and accidentaly ran over the cable box in our yard. The funny thing is, even though he litteraly mangled it, he didn't say a word until I told on him (I was waiting for him to be responsible and 'fess up) which was 4 days later when we started having internet problems. I had to wait a whopping 3 weeks before the internet got repaired, because he really mangled it badly.

I'm graduating HS this April and going to college in the Fall.
