Mass effect is a role-playing 3rd person shooter.
Mass Effect background:
When humans went to mars and created a settlement there, They dug up some old ruins of a Prothean outpost. The discovery gave technology such as FTL drives, (Faster than Light) To explore their solar system. When using an FTL drive to get to Pluto, scientist figured out that one of the moons was an unactivated Prothean Mass Array frozen for thousands of years. The scientist unfroze the station, and it was then activated. The first team to go in was an Alliance ship designed to survive for long periods of time. The team then proceeded to go to the Mass Relay then shot to the other primary relay. When they got back they were celebrated as heroes to the Alliance and to humans.

Mass Relays: Mass Relays are relays that send ships to other relays throughout the galaxy.
