Re: Distributing Scratch Projects as Exe (sort of…)

Hi rdococ, that's interesting. Scratch2Exe should work with Scratch 1.2.1 projects, are you getting any specific error messages?

Another wonderful tool!  Unfortunatly, I was unable to get it to work under Vista Home Premium.

The installation went well, two shortcuts showed up on my desktop, one called NSIS and the other ChirpCompiler.  I ran ChirpCompiler and it asked all the right questions, allowing me to identify the Scratch file and the icon (I chose Cancel on the icon).  A folder then opened in the Scratch2exe/exe directory but there was no file there.  I searched my entire hard drive with the thought that maybe it was hiding somewhere else, but I was unable to locate it.  I then repeated the process running ChirpCompiler as Administrator with the same negative results.

I have vista and it worked for me.

Thanks so much! I've always wanted to export my scratch projects into stand alone versions so I can put them on a CD then act like its a professional game lol! This is awesome thanks a lot!  big_smile

Hmm.. running win7 here. So for all my smaller projects ( < 1 MB) it works great (thanks!) but whenever i try putting in a fie that's larger than 1 MB it says: compiler error code 1
Could this have anything to do with remote sensors?

Re: Distributing Scratch Projects as Exe (sort of…)

Oh! I figured it out! I had an apostrophe in the name! Thanks for the program, it works like a charm. Making a program into .exe format really makes Scratch much more .. it seems less like goofing off and more like a seriously useful program (well, its already useful in teaching, but for us kids thats no fun..)

Thanks, again

Hi rach51,

thanks for posting the answer to your problem! Yes, apostrophes are a problem with Scratch2Exe. I'm glad you could get it to work.

Vista is best used on a laptop where you're not likely going to be adding new hardware to it. It doesn't actualy stink, my sister has it on her laptop which she uses for Universty and has no problems, except with the house network when she comes home on holidays.
