This is the update thread for the official, clean, Scratch Programming Wiki. Check out the website here.
March 6, 2010 - Deleting Pages Completed
As of today, all of the pages that were hoped to have been deleted, have now been deleted. This has taken longer than expected, because there was no motivation towards doing so, and the only person to do it, Lucario621, was very lazy, but at least it has now been completed. With this being said, we of course have new expectations, to have no articles about people/scratchers, projects, and articles that are unhelpful or spam, and don't fulfill the purpose of this wiki. Users that create articles of these type will be warned that this is not what we want, and the article they created will be deleted, but if it happens multiple times, than there will be consequences.
February 21, 2010 - Deleting Pages Started
As of today, the Scratch Programming Wiki team have started deleting pages. This process will take a while, so we encourage users to be patient. If you have a page that hasn't been deleted yet, is going to be deleted, and you don't want to be deleted, please contact us on Lucario621's talk page or Kyasae-san's talk page.
February 21, 2010 - New Logo
Thanks to Lucario621, after getting inspiration from Blade's logo attempt, he remixed the current scratch logo and made a unique new logo, saying "Write - Share - Elaborate". Discuss it with the new poll, and if you have suggestions or complements/rants about it, tell Lucario621 on his talk page.
February 20, 2010 - New Front Page
Thanks to Lucario621 and the Runescape Wiki, the Scratch Programming Wiki Main Page has a brand new look, with nice blue and orange colors, traditionally the scratch colors. In addition, Lucario621 added a poll, which will change now and then.
February 20, 2010 - Deleting Pages
Now that the website is generally back up from it's long period of inactivity, we have decided to clean it up from all of the articles about people/scratchers, projects, and articles that are unhelpful or spam, and don't fulfill the purpose of this wiki. A list of the pages, along with short reasons of the pages that are planned to be deleted soon, are here, just scroll down. On that page, please post that you agree with them, or if you want to delete more pages, or if you think we should keep some pages.
February 19, 2010 - Recruiting Admins
If you wish to become an admin, drop Kyasae-san (JuiceyBox on Scratch) or Lucario621 (Lucario621 on Scratch) a message that tells us:
-Why you want to be an admin
-What you would feature as an admin
-How active you would be
We will recruit no more than 5 new admins, so message me ASAP if interested. We will read all of your applications carefully so please put effort into them. Spelling and grammar will affect your chances... ;)

I joined as JojoTheLoner. I've edited three topics so far as to contain more accuracy.
My changes were:
*JSO is also a Forum Moderator
*Scrollx/scrolly is common names for variables when scrolling but not neccesary
*Scratch Awards use a publicly viewed voting system using The Scratch Forums
if you have a problem with these change, just tell me.

I joined as archmageflash and I spent a good while just deleting content that has nothing to do with programming. Mostly just user's promoting their own projects or profiles.

If we're supposed to post our Admin thingy here then,
I want to be admin on the Scratch Wiki, so that I can help it grow and make it better. As and admin, I would feature topics that emphasize the uses of Scratch, and are well written, sensible material. Considering the fact I'm obsessed with computers, I would be on very often, and pretty much everyday. Please give me an admin position. It would mean alot.

I want to become admin of the Scratch Wiki. I have been using Scratch since it came out and I am among the first users on the Scratch website. I spend a lot of time on the Forums and the website, so I have a lot of knowledge about different things. I can help keep the Wiki correct and can delete useless stuff. Umm, er- please make me admin?

I made a page of my user, but it deleted the contents and wrote "This page is scheduled for deletion"

Generally, everything that isn't related to helping scratch users program will be deleted. Right now that includes like 80% of the site so people have to start replacing it with good content.
I deleted every user/project/social page I could find.

companies shouldn't be deleted, it helps people know about collaborating, the best ways to do it, where to join, different resources people need.
im re adding it, just delete it if u see fit later but i think thats just being too harsh.
Offline
I deleted it because its a social group thing, and not technically accurate because these groups can't be defined as companies.
Maybe you could replace it by explaining how to organize a collaborative effort? Just don't name specific groups or promote users.

Since the forums can be used to help with programming I guess its ok. But you really need to move your focus away from topics like forums and companies and more on programming and drawing techniques.

Sure, I'll start that after. Are you an admin? You seem to take it really seriously, I thought you despised things like these....

Nah, I am not an admin, but anyone can edit it right? Maybe Lucario can make me an admin.
I like anything that can help people be more successful in making projects. Learning to make better projects is good, boasting about your groups or projects, not so much.

Ok guys, I have a new idea for a logo, but I just need to figure out the right words. You know how the scratch motto is "Imagine, Program, Share"? Well I want to do that for the wiki too. But what should it be?
Brainstorm - Write - Share
Brainstorm - Write - Help
Brainstorm - Write - Elaborate
Write - Share - Elaborate
Write - Share - Help
Those are just some ideas
I'm wondering which one would be the best.

You should go for the one that has the least letters or the most letters that are a combination of program, share.... and that first thing which seems to have sipped my ind

Guys, is this a nice logo? I hope you like it...
