Re: Super Math Challenge (IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS)

Do you know how to use a scientific calculator? If you're allowed to use one in class, you can finish these types of equations in a fraction of the time.

Re: Super Math Challenge (IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS)

Yes I know how to use one, but my brother lost it and I didn't find it until AFTER I solved the problems. >.>

I'm graduating HS this April and going to college in the Fall.

Re: Super Math Challenge (IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS)

Also there's a university way of solving cos tan and sin equations without using a calculator. If I paid attention in class and didn't sit in the back row where I can't see anything, I'd remember it.

Yeah, you use the Unit Circle, and then convert to degrees. Or proportions, either way work. Simple. Let me see your "Difficult", grade 12 homework. Somehow I doubt it is anywhere near the difficulty of mine.  tongue

Re: Super Math Challenge (IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS)

It's not really difficult, more like a lot of work to do. It's 40 questions with some sub-questions. I'd type them out for you, but that would defeat the purpose of my laziness.

Re: Super Math Challenge (IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS)

A new question has arrived!

Question 11.
Two apartment buildings 100m and 80m tall are 60m apart. The sun casts a shadow of the 100m building onto the 80m building. If the angle of the elevation of the sun is 22 degrees, calculate the height of the shadow on the 80m building to the nearest meter. If the angle of elevation of the sun changes at a constant rate of 15 degrees an hour, calculate the total time in a day that the 80m building is partly in the shadow of the 100m tall building.

*gasp* I'm absolutely shocked that you would suspect that I'm getting you to do my homework for me.

If others just give you the answers, they aren't doing you any favors at all.  You need to understand the solution method.  Otherwise, what are you going to do on the chapter test?

Re: Super Math Challenge (IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS)

Actually the chapter test was last week. I got a 99.9% on it. The reason it's 99.9 is because I left a question blank and solved the bonus. It should've been 101% with the 3% from the bonus, but you can't get 100% with a bonus question.
