no reason to move it, i think it would be a bad idea and it would be annoying to have to keep going back and forth between forums. i'd probably just stop using the forums altogether.

I seem to have a different opinion of Miscellaneous - I consider it just a place for people to chat about whatever they want. Honestly, most of the topics there aren't Scratch related - people just want to chat about something, so they post the topic.

If people kept topics Scratch-related, I wouldn't hate Miscellaneous as much.

Well, I'm fine with some of the threads... sometimes I want to discuss matters with someone on Scratch, like the Olympics. But if I were asking users to guess what color my carpet was, that would be silly. tongue

Exactly! That's pretty much how I feel about some topics too. But there is kind of a fine line between them.

Demosthens makes a good point. This is the Scratch forums. I don't care whether we keep our post count or not, but I actually support this idea. However, due to few supporters, it probably wont happen, but I hope it does. big_smile

Actually 'Inspiration and More' was really Miscellaneous, Project Ideas, Collaborations, ad Request all rolled up into one forum section at one point (it was at my suggestion that it be split it to better accommodate for the various threads appearing there).

If you don't mind me asking: this topic is kind of fairly old and doesn't seem to cover later comments on the Scratch Team's view on Miscellaneous and it's role in the Scratch community. Why did you bump the thread? hmm
