Hello all,
first of all, thank you for this great programming environment. My little daughter (5) was bugging me since weeks to teach her programming, and now after I found this, it took her an hour or so, and she is ready to "program" simple animations. Cool stuff!
There are two features I am missing, though:
1. More icons all over the place. Especially for smaller children, who can not yet read very well - but also for others - it would be very usefull, if each button and block would have a distinctive icon attached to it, which makes it easier to see what it is doing.
I would be very happy to contribute in designing these icons, as I already did a similar thing for a (commercial) IDE...
Secondly, I really believe the editor would be massively more useful if it had some kind of "onion skin" feature. This would make creating high quality animations much easier.
Just my € 0,20. Keep up the good work! :-)

Wow! Great suggestions!
I hope the Scratch administrators see this. I might also want to help with some details...

The "onion skin" feature has also been suggested here: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=326104#p326104 (just saying)
I really want the onion skin feature...

Very interesting idea! What would be good is if these icon based skins could be applied the same as language files. (See the translating scratch forum). The only problem is that these icon based skins would have to be stored as binary files, rather than text files.
However, if this can be implemented, that would be great.
