I live in Vancouver too.
The opening ceremony was terrible, though. It was the most steriotypical thing I've seen in my life, to be honest. All the first nation chiefs dancing around, and the cheesy canadian songs... it was all so contrived.
And then they made that hockey player dude carry the torch in the pouring rain on the back of a pickup truck. Bleh. D:
Yesterday at about noon they had to re-route the torch because of a riot on commercial drive. I was right in the middle of it, trying to stop my friend from arguing with a Scottish lady.
Ohhh, but guess where the torch got re-routed to? My school!
I got to hold it!
Not very interesting, though. Just a big white stick thing with a flame at the top.
