Only 1 day left until the Lord Sprites Spriting Tournament!! Sign up at this link: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=29449
Remember, there are a limited number of spots, so sign up today (not really, there's a lot left actually )
Oh yeah and guess what else is in 1 day? The Canadian Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Canada has a 'real chance' at winning gold this year because it's their home field advantage. I highly doubt that though. As unpatriotic that it may be, I don't think they'll win. There's so much hype here about it it'd be devastating if Canada actually lost. What are your predictions for the Olympics? Discuss. Yeah, using the Olympics as a cover for a Lord Sprites Tournament notice, don't bite me, just discuss the Olympics :]

IMO, although Canada may have a smaller population so smaller participants, they are still very far north, so they will have quite an advantage, as they live playing lots of winter games/sports

Nah
I made voodoo dolls of them all and put needles in them
I assume thats the reason why they are all like dropping out due to injury

Oh it is? Now I know where I'll kidnap the next series of 11-12 year old kids from. Gee thanks.
@Bwog: It's 1 day. Today's over.

[desperate]So does Minnesota!![/desperate]
And I'm very unpatriotic. I want Mexico(mother's home country) or Japan to win.
But I guess for the winter Olympics some Minnesotans will be competing, so....... go USA.

I'm rooting for the US too.

Ohhh, I live in Vancouver! 8D
It's been the warmest winter since 1975 or something, though. It was 15 degrees and sunny today. There's almost no snow at all on the mountains, so they've been shipping it by helicopter.
For gym class tommorrow, we're going to see the torch come into town! We have to jog there, though. I HATE jogging.
Hopefully things will turn out ok. ^^ I'm glad that they're holding it in Whistler some of the time, because I've been snowboarding there before. Beautiful glaciers everywhere. :3
There's a bazzilion helecopters everywhere, though. Not to mention the police cars and coca-cola signs. Mcdonalds has put their logo everwhere, too. D:
Idk. The whole idea of all the countries coming together to do winter sports is wonderul, but they've made it way to political and expensive. Half the roads and schools are closing. Bleh.

The second reason why the Canadians won't win: Lack of snow. The first one being they fail. By Canadians, I of course mean the Olympic Competitors, because I am a Canadian in the sense that I live here.

Hey, it's really only Vancouver that's not getting any snow.
Basically everything north of us is pretty good.

Oh yeah that'll make up for it (I doubt it).
Imagine this: If you're on skiis or a tobbagon, and you're going down a hill, it's all basically math. Angles and weight displacement into turning the craft at optimum velocities. If you've been practicing every year for this contest, and you memorized all the right angles to turn at, if there's a change, you'll pretty much fail right off the bat. If you haven't ever been to this terrain before and you don't know it, you can adjust to the new surroundings better. US > Canada in the Olympics.

Lol, they've actually been shipping snow from up north to the local mountains. xD
I've been snowboarding up there recently, and the only difference is that you can wear only a sweater and cotton pants. It's pretty cool, actually. ^^ you don't have to bundle yourself up in fancy gear.
I don't really understand what you mean by a "change." Of course it's not local snow, but it's still got the same texture and whatnot. Like I said, I didn't really notice anything different exept for the warmness.
