Are you sure it's not your connection? Can you download normally from other websites?
Are you downloading/loading anything besides Scratch? It may be because of the traffic....
In that case, try rebooting your system and modem (that is, if you use a modem). and cancel any other downloads you have. Also, if you are streaming video/music (such as on YouTube), it might cause problems as well.
Have you tried downloading from another computer?
Also, it might be a server overload on the Sratch website. Try again later.
Hope this would help you.

so maybe the server is overloaded. Try downloading it at late night, because less people use Internet. You can try to close background apps, such as Skype, file downloading software, etc. Are you connected directly or by a home network (like home WiFi, do you have a wireless router in a house?). And of course, the download speed depends on your connection speed.

Is your computer out of memory? Do you have multiple programs running? How much ram and space do you have on your computer? (Open My Computer Right-Click Local Disk (C
then select properties. There should be a "Pie" as I call it. Blue = Used Space Pink/Purple = Free Space.
)

It depends on how old your computer is, what the java heap memory is, what the amount of ghz. it has, and a large number of things such as that.

how come it is so slow???
You must use Dial-up, DSL, or other slow connection. Blame it on your ISP.

Okay:
1) Check it on another computer, if you can. Then transfer it to yours using a removable storage device (USB key, disk, etc)
2) Check your firewall settings. It could be blocking it.
3) Try downloading other files from other websites.
4) Try the msi installer, or the zip file.
5) Try another browser.
6) Search the web for mirror links to it (on other servers).
7) Wait awhile... there could be a technical problem with the scratch server.
8) If all else fails, you can email me at streakmail@gmail.com, and I will send you the file. (that may work)
9) You can try downloading the image alone from http://streak.t35.com/downloads.html. Then drag it onto scratch.exe (or .app).

Do you have anything else that maybe slowing the connection down? Close EVERYTHING and make sure any atomatic programs that you don't need are closed too.
Hope this helps

Please don't bump old threads.
And 1 hour 14 minutes left... downloading 1.4... See the coincidence?

This is a very old topic...I'm not sure why it was revived. People, before responding to a thread, please check to see how old it is. If it's old, it's likely it's already been resolved. Closing this.
