I think that that, like on youtube, Scratch could have a Recomended For You section on the front page. It could pick out projects you might like by looking at the tags of what you have viewed, favorited, and loved. I think that this would be useful to people who REALLY like a certain type of project.

This could be a good idea, but for example, the tag stickman could be also:
stickpeople
stick
stick person
stick man
stick guy
sticks
stickmen
sticks
So it could be confusing.
And also there are tags like "waffles" that are added to everything.

Maybe you should be able to put tags of whatever you like, and projects with these tags will come up.

Cool! I like this idea. As with any suggestion, it really helps to make a mockup that demonstrates the new feature. A mockup is an image, usually made with photoshop, gimp, or Scratch, that shows how the suggested feature might look.
That helps everyone, including the Scratch Team, think through the design of a new feature.
So, anyone want to make a mockup of this? You could start by taking a screenshot of a similar row on the front page, and then change it around to suit your plan.

What I think it would be like is this:
Or like how it is on Youtube now:

Oooh! Nice! You should also be able to link to a whole page of these recommended projects. It's a great way to see what's out in the community!

I wonder how hard that would be to code though, and how accurate it would be.

Hmmm... wouldn't that take up a lot of server space?

Idk about server *space*, but it might create lag... and that means more weasels!

Nicely done!
Now let's think about the logic a little. As MRN points out, we'd want to make sure this was simple enough so that it doesn't encourage weasel attacks on our server.
If the "Because you viewed" model is chosen, how would we calculate which projects to show? This might take some thinking...
Off the cuff, I guess one way to do it would be:
1. Look for a recently viewed project (by Scratcher who is logged in).
2. See who from their friend's list also viewed it.
3. Find the top three projects viewed by their friends, but not viewed by the logged in Scratcher.
I'm not an expert at this kind of thing (andresmh is the ultimate ninja master of server / site stuff), but I suspect this would put a pretty heavy load on the server.
Hrmm.....

Lol.
I support the idea though! Although I think it would be a lot less complicated, if we didn't add the "Because you viewed: Blah Blah Blah".

That's a good idea. There are alot of YouTube features that would work well on Scratch.

Oh... That would work nicely. That knocks my 'because you viewed ' idea out of the park.
