No.

IMO he's a boy, but that's just my opinion. I mean although Scratch is a cat, which is generally feminine, here it's different...
I always think he's male as well, but there's nothing to determinate his/her gender.

Well, maybe the logo Scratch Cat has a name/gender, but it's still listed as cat in the programming. Because then people would be asking for a female cat sprite. XD

Lots of posts automatically talk about Scratch Cat as "he"...without debate.
What if all the female Scratchers rise up in indignation??!!

Maybe the Scratch cat- nevermind.

He said he don't like your kind (human).

---Yeah, and then she laughed and laughed and laughed!!
How are we going to settle this at Scratch? Have a vote by all registered members? Turn it over to the Scratch Team? Flip a coin?
Or just decide that Cat doesn't have a gender and is just a cartoon mascot. And then always just refer to it as Cat, not "he" or "she"....
And this all started with a discussion of what Cat's *name* is!!!
Offline
Maybe we could just refer to the Cat as "it"!
That way the whole gender question can be skipped.
If we vote, then whoever loses the vote might be unhappy.
If we just use "it" to refer to Cat then everybody's HAPPY!!

I don't know if it has an OFFICIAL name. I call it "Scratchie", in case that helps.

Yeah, don't try talking down to me about that, I had a good reason. Someone made a another topic asking about the Scratch Cat's name, and cheddargirl put the link to this topic there.
That's not an excuse...
If you're going to bump up a topic just to say "His name is Bruce", don't bump it up. It's not a good enough reason.

Actually, Jonathan, I really did direct him here.
I'm thinking about merging both topics together, or perhaps just closing the newer one and redirecting everyone to the older topic as the older topic is more comprehensive and complete.

Scratch's name is Chung Lee Shun.

Scratch!
Watch Jon like say "Okay thanks Cheddar!" then not say anything to Ace

Chung Lee Shun? He was created in MIT so I think he should have an english name. Like Bruce. Yeah, Bruce is good. Everyone, we're sticking to that. Good day, gentlemen.
Offline
Yes, but they said they made the Scratch Cat look the way he does, because he looked like something out of an anime cartoon thing, and thought the kids would like it. Chung Lee Shun for the win. xD
Offline
It doesn't look like an anme cartoon (whatever that is). It looks like a regular cartoon cat.
