Some of the reasons a file write might fail:

1.) You might be trying to save the project to a disk area that you don't have permission to write to.  This occasionally happens with PC's running Vista and XP.  Check to see which directory on the disk the program is trying to save the file; you might have to point it somewhere else.  Try pointing it to the Desktop to see if it will save there (you should have write permissions there at least).

2.) The disk you are attempting to write to may be too full to make room for your project.

3.) You might be trying to save to a disk that is no longer mounted on the computer, such as a CD or a flash drive.

Maybe you or your local computer expert can check some of those possibilities out.
