It is so easy.
And I can give you hosting @ lucario621.gershmer.net or something, I have ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, and MySQL support, too.
And by the way, I was born with basic knowledge of html, I already knew <html>, <head>, <title>, <body>, and <p>
But anyway, if you don't want a .gershmer.net domain, go with t35.com

HTML is extremely easy, in my opinion. Got it in less than 3 days.

HTML is so easy, I made a full website(register/login system, navigation bar, a bunch of other cool stuff) in about 6 months. Of course that requires PHP and MySQL. ANd Gershmer, can I have hosting. I have a test site (adriansjunk), but I want an official site. Can I have your hosting?

I agree,HTML is even easier than BASIC.It would probably be a good way to get scratchers used to typing.I learned it in about two days from a book called,"Making A Website For Dummies".I forget most HTML since I never really got into it,but I still could write something like this...
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>The words that pop up in the blue bar on your browser(well,I use IE or Chrome,depending on my computer)</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<H1>HTML Invades Scratch!</H1>
<P>Suddenly,HTML has invaded the scratch forums,specifically in this post.</P>
</BODY>

Yep.If I don't practice something,then my brain classifies it as "boring".And everything with that label on it goes into my brains trash heap.

The 7th beta of the series of betas I am making towards my final game, Mario Kart. In this newest version, a player can
choose what level of difficulty the CPU player will be. There is a slider at the upper right hand corner, which is a slider which can switch between 1, 2, and 3. 1 is
Easy, 2 is Medium, and 3 is Hard. The next update for version 0.8 will be bananas.

Great, now if you want to make nice looking websites learn CSS and if you want to make web based programs learn php.

Indeed. HTML is just the skeleton of the site.
Flash-based sites are nice, too, but that requires no programming knowledge and it costs $700.

Here is the order in which you should learn different web languages: HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, whatever...

If you want a social networking site, also learn MySQL.
Generally, most people don't have a need to create databases with MySQL but if you want to make a business or some sort of social networking site then it can be very useful.

What good free web hosting websites are there? I'd *prefer* one that would let you choose your own domain name...

You have to pay for a domain name. I don't know how much they cost, so you're better off using something simple like Webs.
