A while ago, I made a suggestion, Changing the registration date in the forums to when you did join.. The registration date that appears with your posts isn't when you registered... it's when you first visited the forums. The suggestion was that it be fixed.
Later, inspired by Paddle, I thought of this:
You can choose what registration date it is! You can choose from:
• The date you registered on the Scratch website
• The date you first visited the forums
• The date you first posted on the forums

I do like the idea as it gives the user the most flexibility. If people think that's the way to go I'll write up a ticket and send it off to the development team.
I asked for opinions, but no one gave them. I think that was because it was an old topic that they had visited before. So - this topic is for you to give your opinions! Please give them.
To encourage the idea (and for fun), here are some pictures):
Note that the dates are different - I and other Scratchers would get a choice of dates if this were implemented. It wouldn't be useless.

Lol 3756547 posts
But nice idea. I'm glad you have the option to put multiple of them, not just choose one out of all of them.

That's a great idea! I always hated how the registration date is your first forum visit.

Great idea. Now I can finally know when I actually registered (bad memory when it comes to those things).

Why is everybody obsessed with 3756547?
I think there are at least 3756547 people obsessed with that number...

Why would you want to make it later?
Earlier. Because right now the date is when you first visit the forums.

Yay, everyone likes the idea! I might tell Paddle soon...

You'd be able to make it earlier, also. Look at the three pictures in the topic post. Right now we're using the second one - they date you first visited the forums. Right now I get 2008-7-25. If the suggestion were implemented, I could change it to 2008-3-14, or 2009-3-07.

Excuse me while I finish my laugh attack.
...that's better.
I support the idea, and I think this should go for the TBGs too.

Oops! I was editing out the first bit... sorry about the mistake. I'll go fix that.

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, it's unlikely we'll be able to get to this one anytime soon. We have to spend most of our energy fighting weasels! And the list of desired improvements / feature requests for the Scratch website is long.
While it seems like a feature like this one would be easy to implement, it can actually be really hard to make small changes. So at least until Scratch 2.0, the date reflected is likely to be the one the system registered when the forum account was first created (the first time the Scratcher visited the forums).
A ray of hope:
Scratch 2.0 will likely be a combined website / application. Some things may be rebuilt from the ground up at that time, so if it's possible to synchronize the "registration" times then, I'll try to see that it gets done.
Scratch On!

Oh, I forgot about the weasel invasion! Good luck on fighting off the weasels.
Yay, it'll probably be added in Scratch 2.0! I appreciate it that you'll try and get it done - thanks, Lightnin!
