Number radio stations

Sometimes, when you get really bored, you start to seek things on low radio frequencies. Sometimes, if you're lucky enough, you can catch a number station. What is a number station? Basically, it's a broadcast over an unused frequency, with just numbers in it. Sometimes, it's broadcasting regularly, sometimes it's not. Usually, the broadcast starts with some pointless words or music, repeated few times, then the numbers are being spoken. Transmission ends with words or music again. Speech usually sounds like from a speech synthesiser.

An example of number station may be the one caught by half_life_2:

Yeah.

'Cause there's no way I can make my unintentional crystal radio do anything. (It's my computer speakers acting up)

Re: Number radio stations

Actually, I caught one when I was small. Scared the heck out of me.

Again, how do you listen to them? Do you mod a radio or something?

Re: Number radio stations

No. Just set it to low frequency (AM will do).
