Hello,
i´ve done a really big project, and now my Computer (Scratch 1.4) can´t read it!
There´s a message: "Can´t read the project. Error with the key" or something like this.
What can I do?
Does Scratch save some backups?
Thanks for your help!

if it's showing up with just a gray screen, then chances are you don't have the right updated version of Java. if it's something else, I don't know what it is.

Have you closed scratch WHILE it was saving?

Hmm, it sounds like your project file might have gotten corrupted.
Sometimes this happens when projects are saved on usb flash drives that are pulled out without first ejecting them.
You can search your hard drive for an earlier version of your project, and maybe start from there. Otherwise, the best thing to do is to just start fresh.
One bit of good news: Once you've made a project once, it's usually faster to make it from scratch (heh) a second time. So hopefully it won't take too long to recreate it!

Yes, this happens.
The reason can be any that have already been mentioned.
You can try opening it in previous versions of scratch, and seeing if they are more lenient.
Alternativly, you can get a file undelete program, which may be able to recover an old version, after it was moved or deleted from your C drive... (perform a disk scan).
It is possible that it is a minor error that can be fixed with binary editing... If this is the case, then you can send it to [e-mail removed by forum moderator. For safety reasons, please do not share personal e-mail addresses on the Scratch Forums], and I will see if I can fix it.
If all of these don't work, than you will, unfortunately, have to start over.
