Re: The Fourth Dimiension

Light would have to come from all directions while also being inside the shadow for it to become 3D, but that's impossible so there's no such thing as 3D shadows, therefore no 4D objects.

Actually, there is a 4D:Time.Obviously, if we didn't have time then I probably wouldn't be typing this. There is also a 4D in a physical sense that can be proven mathmatically;but i'm only in the 6th grade,so I don't really no what it is.In any case, your computer actually calculates in hyperspace(or 4D and above) on a regular basis(according to my physics book written by Michio Kaku)

Mickey Kaku? Never heard of him. Time isn't the 4th dimension, it's just a flow. It has something to do with how far you are away from the sun, and the earth's rotation.

Not MICKEY...Michio.People probably wouldn't hear about him unless you enjoy the history channel or read a lot of physics books. And what your talking about isn't time;it's temperature and climate, which are byproducts of passing time.

Re: The Fourth Dimiension

Time is th fourth dimnsion. Say you have a graph. A 3-D graph, even though it doesn't have to be. One this graph, you see a curve. However, in three dimensions, you can only the curve. However, when one adds time, the fourth dimension into the equation, you create another way to look at the graph, where a point is at a certain time. Without the fourth dimension, you can't have the single point because then it would only become a one dimensional object, and therefor not 3-D. When Time is added, one is allowed to pick points without unraveling the basic scructure.

Also, lets say you have a cube. Its growing, but you don't know this. You only see a cube, or 3-D. When you factor in time, you can see each of the three dimesions at any point in time, therefor adding more data to the equation.

The fifth dimension is a little more complex though. Imagine that you have to travel along a string, from point A (Left end) to point B (Right end) The string is taught (tight). Now then, it will take a while to get from point A to point B. The fifth dimension allows one to effectivly take the string, and fold it in half, puting the ends right next to each other. This allows for easy, and fast travel. The fifth dimnsion is the act of putting the ends together. This is aan effective wormhole.

Congrats, you pass science!

Re: The Fourth Dimiension

well i am explaining it what u see is actually a 3d shadow in 4d universe its like this
U have an apple and u want  to find an insect inside it for that u will need to know its x , y , z positions but even with knowing them u cannot be sure that the insect will be their at the time u are searching for it at that x,y,z so u will have to define time as a dimension for its position now in case of real world objects each and every is travelling tooo fast(universal expansion, planetry motion etc) now what we see is the 3dimensional shadow of a hyperdimensional object Dont be confused as ur brain can never create a 4d object and the 3d piece of cube u presented illlusionist was a good example of projection of a 4d object in 3d space.

If u take science>>Physics>>modernphysics as ur subject in future u will meet all these and as far as the dimension no 6-11 are concerned they are hidden dimensions
EXPLAINATION of 6-11th dimensions
consider urself to be a Galactic object now for you earth is a point ie. earth will surely be dimensionless for you but for us earth is 3dimensional now in the same way when u deal with objects such small as strings u come across many more dimensions which are hidden (integrated ) in our 3d space and hence these higher dimensions can easily be explained  smile

I havent used maths as it will destroy the brains of u guys.

Re: The Fourth Dimiension

I don't see any proof yet, so I'll dismiss those.
Unlike 0 dimensional, 1 dimensional, and 2 dimensional shadows, 3 dimensional shadows are impossible. Especially with that 4th and 5th dimensional explanations you gave, TheSaint. fanofcena, aren't you the guy you got a swelled up hand from punching a concrete wall? Physics information from you I wouldn't really trust. But I'll ask my Physics Teacher anyways (and I am taking modern physics).
