What's more fun than a platformer deathmatch? Why, nothing, of course!

Using MathWizz's Mesh unlock method I was able to create this simple deathmatch multiplayer application with a feature that isn't even implemented correctly yet!

Here's a set of instructions for setting up the game:

1. Use MathWizz's tutorial on how to unlock Mesh. You can find it here: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MathWizz/849173

2. Download the Project onto 2 computers in your home that are linked via network.

3. Get/Buy a friend/relative to play with you.

4. Shift-Click on Share on computer 1 and click "Host Mesh". Take note of the IP address as you will need it for Computer 2.

5. If any windows firewall warning pop up just allow scratch.

6. Shift-Click on Share on computer 2 and click "Join Mesh", and then enter the IP address given to you by Computer 1.

7. Put both computers into Presentation mode.

8. Sit both players at their computers/laptops.

9. Press the green flag and the game will begin.

To kill each other just jump on each other's heads. Simple.

If you experience some lag then go tell the scratch team to implement the feature fully. smile

Yep. Comes with scratch but you have to unlock it.

You don't have to unlock it with BYOB - but I wanted to share this. smile

Weird, wouldn't it be easier if the next version of Scratch had it easier to install?

Why did they make it so hard, I looked at the tutorial and it looked like he was hacking into the inner core of scratch.

Why make it so hard to do, whats the point in having to shift click in the R?

They didn't include it in scratch because it was buggy and hard to use. But hey, scratch is buggy and the bugs make it hard to use. > smile

No - you have to unlock Mesh on both computers first using MathWizz's tutorial.
