I want to get the ipad because it's in between the size of a ipod and a laptop. It also has no contract 3G!!!

Fair enough, but should it cost more than twice as much as an iTouch that functions the same way?

on the ipad there is no contract 3G. On the iphone you have a data plan

Just you actually have to look for good deals, as long as you don't necessarily look for the shiniest thing there is. Sometimes it can be $200, if you're going to the store on Black Friday. I know my mom hates Black Friday because she used to be in that big iron wall or whatever you call it (that event in europe), and she had to be in LONG lines to get food, so she has bad memories, so she doesn't like to go through waiting...
