I agree with the costing a lot, but it's flat, lightweight, has a touch screen.......it's cheaper than buying a laptop, I suppose. Although no Java support is a letdown. And I was suprised by the name.

-Apps
It has the same apps as the iTouch, and most cost money. With a laptop or tablet pc of the same price you can download pretty much any app you want.

-support
Apple does have good support, no issues on this point.

-nice graphics
Yes it can display pretty pictures, but what kinds of graphical things can you run on it? Flash no support, java nope, lots of media files probably not, cool video games definitely not.

-Doesn't crash
My psp doesn't crash either but I can't compare it to my computer which sometimes does crash. This is because the psp can't do most of the things that my computer does. The same can be said of the iPad.

-Somewhat affordable
Sure everyone probably can come up with 500 dollars for this thing but the fact that you can get devices that do the same thing for half the price makes this unattractive for those who want to save money.

-Innovative
Its a big iTouch, nuff said

-A guarantee
Most things you buy come with warranties.

Oh please. I bought the high quality windows 7 laptop for only about 400 dollars lol... and in commercials, I've seen some for 200 dollars....

Windows computers look like some caveman went and got a block of stone and made a computer out of it. Apple computers are streamlined, they're faster, stronger, and better than any Windows computer you can come up with.

I'll be on 'your side' and then littletonks can get somebody on her side(I think her). iPad isn't pocket size, so you could just use an iTouch(does it have internet? - I dunno). A tablet PC would be better. From what I know(I don't know much, YAY!), tablet PCs are with a pen, and has java/flash support - I think. I'd be backing away from an iPad. I'm not interested in apple products, other then the iPod stuffz.

Honestly, I think that is actually no big deal because it just looks like an iTouch with a bigger screen. I already have an iTouch, so I don't think I will be getting the iPad.

Although I DO need another Apple product in my household that ISN'T and iPod...

Supposedly, it is supposed to kill the Kindle, which it is obviously not going to do. The Kindle is way better than this pile of junk. Expensive, not very portable, and probably very un-useful.

Besides, iPad isn't much of a tablet. More of an enlarged iTouch.

Do any of you actually understand what a tablet is?

(One that doesn't run a desktop os, I mean)

Also about that +500. You should really teach your brain to look at every 99, and add 1 and regroup. And it says "Starting at 499". Really.... And a laptop is just about that same price. Just you actually have to look for good deals, as long as you don't necessarily look for the shiniest thing there is. Sometimes it can be $200, if you're going to the store on Black Friday. And if you're saying "Who cares for a Laptop", or just plainly "Laptops are too big to fit in your pocket", then... you have issues. Laptops have lots more capabilities than any of those "phones".

Yeah. I do. I know what a tablet and tablet PC are. I know all the types of wacom tablets, especially Bamboo [pen and touch]. I'm using my tablet right now. I rarely use my mouse anymore. I don't feel pure anymore. I'm always using my tablet now, I don't want people to think that my older pictures are also done with tablet. I don't want to lose my talent of drawing with a mouse. This seem like it was their intention. I heard they they were launching an apple ebook store. I think they may have tried to revolutionize the market with a device that is a book reader+ other things like they have with their other iStuff. The problem is that ebook readers have a very small appeal (as opposed to music and phone devices) so there probably won't be an amazing reception for this product. The kindle is still better as a ebook reader because its battery life is about 1 week whereas the iTab lasts less than a day. Not to mention that the kindle is only around 200 dollars.

And the fact that the Kindle book store on Amazon is amazing. Great books, some free, others around $4. Apple: Books would probably be $10, in which case you can go to a store and buy a book for a lower price.
