For what?Your welcome,anyway...also,we should start brainstorming. We need to think about:
*Enemies/Allies
*Bosses
*Levels
*Items
*Choices(good/evil,weapon,etc.)
*Any other features we want
For the boss,I was having the idea that we could have some huge rock golem on the 5th(and last)level that would have this attack sequence:
1)Either stomps or punches
2)Throws several rocks(may randomly punch inbetween)
3)Slams the ground hard to create a shockwave that travels across the stage
4)Jumps and body slams the place you were at when he jumped(you have warning as to where via his shadow)
5)Runs to the other side of the stage
6)Repeats attack sequence
You could only damage it by hitting it on the head with a "Blessed Weapon"(which you are fortunatly given before the battle). It would have a death animation of it crumbling into a pile of rocks.
I was thinking the boss could be leader who destroyed your village? If not, your idea is great! I meant thanks for saying the credits were good

Yeah,a barbarian leader would be better to incorporate into the storyline.I was thinking that we could use the guy who destroyed the romans(I forget the name, but I remember that he was a roman commander who had been snatched away as a young barbarian during a roman raid, and so he decided to get his revenge or something by exploiting the weaknesses of the roman armies tactics and weapons)

Didn't we talk about the weapons already?

Not the ones that we'd have in the shop.We could make the weapon's costumes easy by making them bigger if they're more damaging. We should also have other attachments. Here's my ideas:
---------------------------------
WEAPONS
Bows:Yew,Steel,Divine
Swords:Curved,Straight,Divine
Bashing:Club,Mace,Ax
Spears:Wood,Javelin,Divine
Magic:Time Slow,Fireball,Warrior Summon
--------------------------------
STATS
Defense:Shinguard,Helmet,Breastplate
Speed:Feet,Sandals,Boots
Attack Rate:Excercise,Steroids,Blessing
Dodge Rate:10%,30%,60%

Sounds great! Wouldn't all those options slow the game down a lot? We will use variables fr weapons and stats right? There should also be treasure chests scattered around...
Yeah,I like the treasure chest idea.It shouldn't slow the game down to much, since the weapons could all be put in as just a few sprites(5 or 6 at the most),and variables don't slow down games all that much, and we'd only need 2-3 variables if we really want to cut down lag.The options would just consist of pressing a key that would then bring up an ask box that says,"What Item Would You like?"

Sounds good! I say w key, as it stands for weapon

Okay, here are some of my level ideas for darklight(before each level some pictures flash by like comic panels to tell the story):
1:Burning Village
You are in a village that is being raided and then destroyed, and you're either helping to defend the town or you are assisting the raiding party.
Enemies/Allies: Barbarians/Villagers
2:The Forest
During the fighting, you are cut off from the main group and fall down a small ravine into the woods. You are forced to walk through the woods to get back, and you find a small band of village hunting dogs has fallen with you.
Enemies/Allies: Dogs/Bears
3:Underground Complex
After emerging from the woods, you arrive in a large clearing with what seems to be a small building built in a hill as the prominent feature. You are taken captive by the villagers, who are remnants of the roman civilization, and thrown blindfolded into an underground cell. However, you are soon freed by the jailer, and you discover that your roman parents were murdered by a barbarian leader.
Enemies: Guards Allies: Prisoners
4:Enemies Camp
When you are free from the prison, most of the prisoners run towards the woods. The few who know the area, however, guide you to the main road, where you steal a several horses. You journey to the barbarian camp, where several prisoners accompany you.
Enemies:Barbarians Allies:Prisoners
5.Boss Battle
You find the barbarian leader, but he has heard of your arrival and is well prepared for battle, and his guards quickly kill your allies. He then draws out a large throwing ax,which he charges you with.
Enemies:Boss,several Guards Allies:(They're dead,remember?)

Yup
After reading about Silent Hill, I keep thinking of horror-like scenes for Darklight O_O

Okay,I was just guessing the jobs since bombo's the best ar photoshop, and i'm the head programmer.Fair is difficult to achieve, but that doesn't mean we can't try. Also,I think we should use my 3D idea in the level 1 demo(a scenery sprite and a terrain sprite)

Ok, mabye. I can do anything cept art... I don't specialize in one thing though. Bombo thinks he made the whole intro, which is bull cuz I made it first, then you, then him.

Don't use language in the forums...but yeah, here's my order of events:
1.I created the basic storyline
2.Bombo creates the menu
3.You create intro with storyline
4.Bombo greatly improves the intro
5.We edit the intro with a menu and minor fixes
Let's not get into an argument about it,though;we all worked on it,and so we all get our names in the credits.

Sorry, and that is my point! We should all get fair share. Not just Bombo for the intro.
Okay. For know, let's just drop who gets credit and worry about that when we need to make the credits. For know,we'll just be focusing on programming and level design. We'll be busy for the next 1-3 weeks.

Okay.Should I use the level 1 demo we already have,or ask bombo to help? Also,we need a character.

Bombos character? Use the one you made, it's quite awesome.

You mean the knight bombo made?I was thinking that we could use a more detailed character version of the AO archer, because it would look plain weird if a noble knight started hacking a villagers head off.We want something that would look in place no matter what your choices. And also,I'm uploading my game now.

Would you like this moved to the Collaboration section? It seems like it would be a good fit for that area. If so, you can use the Report link to ask a mod

I think that's a good idea...but pinochio started the thread,so he'll need to reply.

Although I don't belong in the discussion, this game you are trying to make sounds really good, although the way this is going, it's going to be a little unoriginal. Maybe you could add some genius originality into it. Should be easy for great programmers like you guys.
