Avatars and rep system?

Can we have avatars and reps?

Avatars- Pics just like in your user profile in Scratch. It could be 180x180 with 25KB. To reduce loading longer.

Rep system- You could rep someone which is under a users post. You only rep if it is a good and helpful post. If you want to see some pics of rep system., tell me.

Sounds pretty good! All forums have these two things...

Re: Avatars and rep system?

This was suggested multiple times. It wouldn't be that hard to implement it, but for some reason they still don't

Re: Avatars and rep system?

There are avatars in the main site. Too many people are saying that adding an avatar in the forum will make it too much to load for slow computers...

I don't see anything about the rep though. Have you been on myadopts?

Re: Avatars and rep system?

Nope Miniclip. But if you keep the avatars 180x180 and under 25KB it will load normally.

What about the signatures? It's the same thing, really
And look at roc's sig. He has like a huge full screen snapshot of a scratch window and on this computer, it doesn't resize itself
Doody's sig took up 3 whole scroll bars

You can get atomatic resizing by downloading resizing programs. But this could only be done by staff hacking the forum.

You could get neg repped if you do bad stuff. But this is only by moderators and staff.

Already happened, but my browser IE6 cancels it out
I say yes to the avatars, no to the rep

Images in signatures are usually automatically re-sized to conform to the 150 pixel height limit. Signatures that seem to be unusually too large due to image stacking are brought up to the attention to the Scratch Team, and owner is usually contacted so the image may be shrunken down to a more reasonable size or excess images removed.

As for avatars in the forums, it is a common suggestion, but one that was rejected due to page loading issues (you can read more about this in the sticky thread Suggestions that have been resolved already. You can read more about the issue there; it's listed as resolved suggestion #8  smile  )

Re: Avatars and rep system?

I know about the page loading thing but have they ever even tried it?
I propose a 24 hour trial run of the avatars and see if it's really really bad or not that bad.

Re: Avatars and rep system?

Anyway - judging from what I've heard, the forums would have to be upgraded for avatars. Keep that in mind.  smile

As as cheddargirl said, avatars have been resolved already with a no.

They wouldn't have to be
How did you get that?

On a side note,
No horses over 30 feet tall are allowed in forums
