My first thing I made on GIMP

I did not use a tutorial, or anything, and I just downloaded it today. I think it's decent  tongue

It looks good, but maybe you used that finger tools a little too much on the text
Is that the Parry Hotter font?

I think it's good but you should have selected the background only when you went blur-tool crazy

Note: If you're trying to make a transparent BG image and you save it as a gif animation because you don't know how to save it as a normal transparent thing, don't make the time intervals 0 milliseconds because it screws up the image

You seem to know a lot, but try not to smudge too much. If you want to smudge without getting too much of an effect, duplicate the first layer and select "smudge" from the layers, channels, and paths  menu and then apply the second layer.  big_smile

My favorite effects are the supernova and the "flame"

SUPERNOVA: filters > lighting effects > supernova
FLAME: filters > render > nature > flame
