A random thought for a password (don't use it!): [color=#8aa1ba]
Just a random idea...

Mr_X, that's quite rude to say. Some people are concerned about making a complex password, so this stuff can be really helpful to them. Please follow the Terms of Use and show respect in the Scratch forums.

Whoops
Sorry wrong topic
I was posting that somewhere else, and also, I was being sarcastic

Oh most definately. Anyway, these tips help a lot. Maybe try using a hex color code, like your favorite color, then mix your name into it:
EX: Name: David ;Color:#999000
D9a9v9i0d00
Seems hard.
BTW, that's an example, not a real one. And my name isn't David.

Great ideas! There are so many...

It doesn't have to take three minutes... it depends on what you do.

There was something called Club Penguin and it said how to make passwords:
(random word)(random numbers)(random word) ie:
blah23blah
hey65hi
he798she
etc.
Don't use the password I made up, though.
One second thought, don't make up gibberish passwords. How will you remember them?
I'd say about a 12-20 character password made up of random words is easy to remember, but hard to crack. ie
bunnyrabbitsnowwhite
scratchizrulezhey(that's hard to guess!)
omgiforgotmycellphone (do you think a hacker would go for that?)
etc.

I have a number-letter-number-letter etc. password, and although at first I had to had it visible on notepad, I slowly got used to it, and now I'm pro. IT just takes time. I reccomend the words and numbers standing for something, like a phrase along with a date. Do the first letters of the phrase and stuff...

I only memorized the combinations Alt 129 and Alt 0220.
Yes, I am that obsessed. xP
People with international keyboards don't have to memorize characters. They can just use Alt Gr on vowels.

The only Alt codes I remember is "0153" or ™.

Don't use any REAL words for passwords. There are special programs designed for finding passwords using the dictionary. o.o

That's why you keep it recorded somewhere secret. Once you have it memorized very well (so well that you can type it in a second or two), you delete the note and you're safe!

And mispelling them isn't entirely safe; you could have made another word.

And one important thing:
NEVER, EVER, EVER copy the password from this tutorial. So called hackers will use it easily.
HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PASSWORD:
first, start off with your real address, so, for example:
0 Example Road,
XX0-0XX
Instance City.
Let's merge it up (one line, no spaces):
0ExampleRoadXX0-0XXInstanceCity
That's still too easy. Let's go random (13375P34K [leetspeak] is helpful) and remove the postcode:
03x4mpl3R04d1n57ANC3c1Ty
Now it looks like computer-generated gibberish, but it's still, in fact your address in leetspeak.

Yes, I am that obsessed. xPNo! I only have Alt 0233 (é) and 0235 (ë) memorized. I just press random keys...

I notice that 129 and 0220 produce ü and Ü... is this for Übermensch (Übermensch! Can I join? Nah, just kidding)?
alt 1-9, alt 02210-9 alt 985 951 and so on and so forth.

here are some good password examples (don't use them, the hackers come straight here, obviously, and read these.)

I don't mean to be mean, but generally when people say things like "You have no life" It means that they're jealous about the person that has 100% more life than them.

Hackers try and hack into people's accounts. You may not be famous, you may not think that they would hack you, but you must have a good password. If you have one, you will have a 99.9999999999... chance that you will not get hacked.
Be smart! Don't share your password with anyone. Even your best friend. Do not ever post your password, whether you are hiding the fact or not.First of all, let's view the passwords that you must not use. If you have a password like this, change it at once.
password
Never use this password. Ever. Believe me, that's one of the very first things hackers would try.
(Your username)
Obvious.
123456
Actually quite common. And if something's common, don't use it.
Scratch
Better, but please. How long do these passwords take to think of? Not very long for you. And same for the hackers.
Imagine, Program, Share
I don't think anyone uses this as their password, but it's too easy.
This is my password
I think I should make my point here. Do not use any passwords that are easy to think of or come to mind naturally. If you thought of them easily, the hackers will too.
How to make a good password.
Let's start with 'password'.
password
Utterly ridiculous. 0/20
PaSsWoRd or pAsSwOrD
Some letters are capitalized, some are not. This is good. But this is a recognizable pattern. 1/20
PasSWoRd
Better. Not a recognizable pattern. 3/20
Remember, this is still the password 'password'! These are quite bad passwords. Let's start again.Always have a random password. I don't mean one like 'toilet'. I mean like this:
qrkosieu
Random. However, it's eight characters. The old classic. 11/20
qrkosieuy
Nine characters. Better. 12/20
QrKoSiEuY or qRkOsIeUy
Nice capitalizing, but a predictable pattern. 13/20
QrkOSiEu
Random. 14/20
Remember, these passwords only have letters. Let's step this up a bit.
Qr2O57Eu
Numbers are included. 21/30
Qr2O%&Eu
There are Shift + Numbers in there... 23/30
~r2;%&EU
Other characters. Don't forget them! : . ` " [ etc. 26/30
∞ró2á%&éuJĕ
This is what really annoys the hackers. Symbols like that are easily gained. There are plenty of these. To get a symbol, get Num Lock working, hold Alt, and while it's down you press three numbers on the number pad on your keyboard. Then you lift Alt, and your character appears! For a list of all possible characters, check out a link that MyRedNeptune mentioned. http://www.tedmontgomery.com/tutorial/altchrc.html
→╟=ë¥þ I really like the symbols. There's one in my signature (in the name Charlotte Brontë. Coincidence, but I can show off!), and whenever I refer to andresmh, I call him Andrés. That is his name, you know.
30/30
Here are some examples for good passwords:
I#ì%$Rt)j
R^€|;.╢í
Lo*þR$T(jï
TipsUse letters, numbers, punctuation marks, Shift Number, and Alt Number.
Always capitalize some of the characters.
Never use anything that a hacker will be able to guess.
Acronyms are great for random letters, but make sure that hackers won't be able to guess it. And if the acronym comes out as HELLO or something like that, change it.
Use your common sense!Hope this helped you!
Jonathanpb
this is wrong. hackers don't try to guess your password.
everything past this point is what the hackers will never try
PasSWoRd
Better. Not a recognizable pattern. 3/20
