Import music from Itunes

Ive tryed every single thing, importing everything, and i decided it couldnt work. And thats probably because scratch only made it so you can import from Ipod. I think they should make it so you can import from Itunes. Anyone with me?

Re: Import music from Itunes

import.....from......ipod??? i dont know how to do that, but it cant import from itunes because they run on MP4 audio files while scratch only imports WAV and MP3 files.

I like that idea though BTW.

Re: Import music from Itunes

Well, couldn't you just download it from itunes to the ipod and then change file type (sorry if thats the wrong word but mp3 to mp4)

Put it on a Flash Drive/SD Card/Other Storage Device.  You don't just need it on an iPod.

Re: Import music from Itunes

I'm not sure, but I believe that there are a number of programs that can convert MP4 files to other formats. Since I have no desire to put other people's music into my scratch programs, I haven't investigated this.

Re: Import music from Itunes

I know how. You click the song, and after switching some options, go to advanced (I think) and click on convert to MP3.

Re: Import music from Itunes

I can explain. Itunes converts all music over to a "locked" format, meaning it cannot leave itunes through file transfer. You cannot unlock it, so the only way to get music is to either find it on the internet, buy it in a cd, or record it on a mic. I encountered the same problems, till I researched it a bit. This is a security measure used by Apple to make sure music is not being copied illegally. Just get the music from some place other than Itunes, and you should be fine.

Actually, you can convert in iTunes. It says nothing about that. That's how I got Nun Chuka Kata on the Krazy Kwiz Demo.

Re: Import music from Itunes

What version of ITunes are you running? If it is an older version, it might not be as secure as the newer ones.

Re: Import music from Itunes

Hm, it might differ slightly for mac users. I am using a dell, running Windows XP, and have a new Itunes. Perhaps it differs, since the Itunes would have to be formatted in a slightly different way.

try clicking on advanced or store after choosing a song, and see if you have the convert option.

Re: Import music from Itunes

I do not personally feel a need to add music to my games and projects, and I do not want to risk a lawsuit for plagiarism, so I only use the things that come with scratch, or record my own using a mic and my drum set. I think that even if you give credit to the people who made the song, you are still liable to be sued because you posted it on the internet as a freeware, which is downloadable. I am not taking any chances. Thanks anyway!

Oh yeah, it is free to get it... I did give credit though.... Make my own music? My mic is horrible though!

Re: Import music from Itunes

I bought a simple Logitech Quickcam from Bestbuy for like 20 bucks, and my quality is crystal clear! It is also a webcam in addition to a microphone! To edit sound, I suggest you get Wavepad, which is completely free. It has background noise reduction, volume tapering, AND I found out that the beatles song "I am the Walrus" when played backwards really does talk about Paul being dead.

Well, I have no need for a webcam, mic considering I have iSight and a built in mic, but Wavepad I think would work. I use Garageband, and the gate ad compressor don't work at all. I can't even use a metronome!

Umm... maybe show and tell or all about scratch, saying it's for your music in Scratch or something like that
