Sometimes mods can be too strict

On the TBG forums, I made a thread where you would post a picture of your house, and I specifically said NOT to say where you lived, but it got closed anyway! I really don't get what the deal is. I mean, hundreds of people could have a house that looks the same! Jeez...

No, that's actually quite dangerous. ^^

Just think about it... most of the people on Scratch share their city, some share their name. They might share other personal information elsewhere (facebook, myspace etc), such as their school. It is possible to track a person when you know their school, name, city, and how their house looks. And there are many more ways you can track them, based on facts that don't look too dangerous at first sight.

I believe that topic had a high potential danger rate. It's not really worth the risk, you know.

Sounds understandable, if there are any signs or identification in the pictures you could get weird people finding where you live and coming to your house.

A picture of your house, when some people already tell their name, age, email address, school? Might as well just say your address....

Re: Sometimes mods can be too strict

The moderators know more than you; this is their job, and they know exactly what they are doing.

Just replacing a swear word with asterisks or other symbols doesn't really make any difference; it still means the same. If I were a moderator, I'd remove those 'representatives', just like the moderators.

And for the house stuff - again, I agree with the moderators.

Although I might somewhat agree with BWOG, in this situtaion I'd have to agree. On my profile it shows my exact location, and if I was to post a picture of my house, somebody could find me. Like... like.... CHUCK NORRIS.
